Ways You Can Help us Give Dogs a Second Chance at Life
Become
a foster parent. Fostering a dog is a rewarding experience for both your family
and the dog. By fostering you make it possible for us to
save the lives of more dogs
every year! All we ask of you is to provide a safe, loving environment for the
dog while he is waiting for his new home. Some of the dogs come to us beaten,
starved, abused, and neglected. These precious babies need a special place to
learn to love and trust again. There is nothing more inportant in rescue than
FOSTERING
K-9 New Life has many wonderful volunteer oppurtunities to offer from hands on work with the dogs to clerical work to foster homes.
Currently we are looking for people that are willing to foster dogs. We desperately need people that can foster. The K-9 New Life Center covers all expenses for the dog. All we ask of our foster homes is to provide the dog with a loving safe environment. The commitment is small, but by fostering for us . We also need volunteers to help at weekly adoption events by showing dogs and giving out information.

K-9 New Life Center's goal is to provide a safe haven for abused and abandoned dogs. They believe that every dog ever born deserves a home with a loving family, but until such a home can be found, they need a place where they can receive attention, special care and the opportunity to live in a clean, cheerful environment and be able to mingle and play with other dogs. It doesn't matter what breed of dog it is, how old it is, or how sick it is, K-9 New life is there for the dog! Without their intervention, so many more dogs in the area would be euthanized for the simple reason that a home cannot be found for them. Hence the name of this wonderful organization - they not only save lives, they give so many of these wonderful, cast off animals new lives!
Volunteers who go out and walk the dogs, tend to their kennels and contribute to their daily care, as well as those who provide clerical help to assist with all the paperwork involved in the adoption of these animals, and people who are willing to open their homes to foster these dogs are the backbone of this organization. They do not receive a single cent for their tireless efforts. Instead, whatever funds the organization does have to run on goes to paying bills associated with rescuing, fostering and placing of these poor beings. Also, the need of medical assistance goes above and beyond the routine vaccinations and exams, and unfortunately, those needs always seem to be greater than the funds available.
As we go into this holiday season, the season of caring and giving, it is time for many more of us to heed the call for help. Many people, such as myself, who have a deep love for our canine friends, cannot actively participate in Rescue. For various reasons, we cannot even offer to foster; yet, in our hearts and in our minds, we know that we WANT to help in someway. Well, here is a way that we can help!
As many charitable groups do, K-9 New Life can establish a monthly pledge program, where they could count on additional income so that more of those unfortunate animals can get the medical assistance and loving care they're in dire need of. If every one of you out there would pledge to send in a monthly donation (it doesn't matter how big or small) -- maybe together we could make a big difference.
Imagine, if 100 people would commit to $10.00 a month, that would be $1000.00 extra the center would have to help finance all the spays, neuters, full courses of heartworm treatments, needed surgeries and so much more. Or if 500 people (an extremely small number, considering there are over one and a half million people here in the Hampton Roads area) would send in just $5.00 a month -- that would be $2500.00, and that would be awesome! So many more animals would benefit significantly. Of course, even a dollar or two would be of help and greatly appreciated.
So, what do you say? Can I challenge at least 99 of you to commit to pledging $10.00 a month, as I plan to do? Do we have some generous souls out there who can help with even more? Please respond right now. Call K-9 New Life at (757) 721-BARK or e-mail them at info@k9newlife.com to enter your pledge! God bless you all!
